Registering a Pet
To register your pet with Global Pet Security please follow the steps below.
(Note: The steps for activating a tag, whether provided by your pet provider or newly purchased, are the same. If your new puppy arrived with a Global Pet Security tag it will still need to be activated, any information such as vaccination schedules, vet records, etc. that were uploaded by the Pet Provider will be visible in your account once activated.)
1. Download the Global Pet Security mobile app to your Apple or Android device. 2. Follow the prompts when the app is opened to create your personal account. (If you enter an incorrect phone number during setup, click on the resend button to update and resend the code to the correct number.)
3. Once your account is created, you will be taken to an empty “My Pets” list. Tap “Add a Pet” at the top right of your screen.
4. Select “I have a QR ID Pet Tag” or “I don’t have QR ID Pet Tag”. If you have a tag, continue with step “5”. If you do not have a tag, complete the order for a tag of your preference, and then proceed with step “7”. (Note: A QR ID Pet Tag is required to register a pet, the ID tag is free, the cost for activation is the same whether you already have a tag or not)
5. With your QR ID Pet Tag, there are two ways to continue registering your pet. (The camera will open automatically within the app when selecting “I have a QR ID Pet Tag”) Scan the “QR code” located on the back of the pet tag you are registering or, continue on the same page within the app and enter the “ID Tag Number” listed below the QR code. (Having trouble? See QR code troubleshooting guide)
6. Complete the payment process. (See Payments)
7. Follow the setup prompts, filling in the information fields for your pet. Entering your pet’s microchip # when prompted in the initial setup process will ensure your pet’s microchip is registered properly. (See registering a microchip)
Note: A Microchip Registry is a part of the GPS service.
Note: Your pet will be assigned a personal email when the profile is created.(see “Document Hub” for more on your pet’s email’s functions)
