QR Code Troubleshooting Guide
If you are having difficulty scanning the QR code on the pet ID tag, here are some helpful tips:
- Enable camera access for the Global Pet Security app from your phone settings.
- Place the QR ID tag on a flat, stable surface in good lighting with the QR code facing upward.
- Hold the phone approximately 8-10 inches above the ID tag to allow the camera to focus, gradually moving the device closer to the QR code until the scan is successful.
- It may be necessary to repeat this process several times to ensure the camera focuses properly on the code.
- Once the scan is successful you will be directed to the next step of registering a pet.
Alternatively if you are trying to register by entering the tag ID number, enter the number located below the QR code on the tag itself, including letters and -. (Note: The tag ID Number and the pet’s microchip number are not the same, see Registering A Microchip) If your tag ID number does not have a series of alpha letters please contact support@globalpetsecurity.com to receive a series of security alpha letters affiliated with each tag for security purposes. Please state
● First & Last name of the account holder
● Phone number listed on the account
● The numbers listed below the QR code on your tag
● Problem you are having with setup
If you are unable to complete the scan or setup and you feel your tag may be damaged, please send an email to support@globalpetsecurity.com stating the above.
